Dear Kuya
Dear Kuya is a unique,
inspiring and uplifting morning program that listeners can hear from 9 o’clock
to 12 noon during Mondays to Fridays. You can hear different stories of
differerent people who have sent their messages to get advice from Kuya Daniel
Razon (Vice Presiding Minister of Memebers Church of GOD International) and
Bro. Eli Soriano (Presiding Minister of Memebers Church of GOD International),
according to the Bible. To interpret their stories, some people off air, most
are students from La Verdad Christian College- Caloocan, voice over, until Kuya
Daniel narrates the story proper.
(Carlo’s Story)
One of the stories I
have heard when I was with my friends is Carlo’s story. It’s about his life as
a boy who grew up together with his grandparents. His lolo and lola have been
ver kind to him but he felt his life incomplete because he rarely see his
mother with him, and that he never met his father. When his 7th birthday came,
he celebrated the special day with his lola and lolo but her mother didn’t
showed up the whole day until such time when her mother went home drunk. His
lolo went away for a moment to talk to his mother but he accidentally heard
their conversation as he tried to enter his room to go to sleep. His mother
hated his grandfather so much as she said these lines...
“Ang pagkapanganak sa
batang ‘yan ay umpisa ng pagkasira ng buhay ko.”
Carlo’s heart has been
broken since he heard those lines, but later on he realized everything her
mother has been saying. That time is the moment where he understood everything,
why everything’s happenning and why his mother treated his grandfather that
way. It’s because Carlo’s lolo is also his father. Lolo raped her mother during
her teenage years and since then, their daughter-and-father realtionship has
been broken.
Carlo has been asking
for ways on how he could handle his realtionship with his father/grandfather
after knowing all of these things.
